Meet the team - Who is Nunie?

Nunie is co-owned and directed by Georgia Fugar and Annie Stewart. We are Clinical Naturopaths who have studied and worked together for a number of years now, and we were always coming together to discuss new ideas and visions for our careers. We were consistently inspired and energised by one another!

 

 

Can you tell us a bit about your brand and the inspiration behind it?

Over the past couple of years Annie & myself (Georgia) studied sexual microbiome health and worked with numerous patients in the management of vaginal infections, microbiome imbalances, and other sexual health conditions - using nutritional and herbal medicines to bring relief and balance back to the patient.

 

What motivated you to start your brand?

We saw both sides of intimate health - the side where sexual health conditions with corresponding irritation, inflammation and infection would lead to disconnect and shame around sexual experience, and the other side, where successful management and treatment of sexual health led to increased sexual liberation, pleasure and confidence. Leading individuals to the side of liberation and pleasure was naturally our goal, which led to the creation of Nunie!

 

 

How did you choose the name for your brand?

To choose the name for our business we asked all of our friends what they called vaginas growing up - and one of Annie’s friends said she was taught to call it her ‘nunie’, which we instantly felt was so right for our brand.

 

What are the core values and mission of your brand?

"Our mission is to empower individuals to prioritise their sexual wellness and health- across all the physical, emotional and mental planes of their being"

 

Can you describe your product line and what makes it unique?

Through our products, Nunie helps to reclaim the joy of intimacy while addressing chronic fungal and bacterial imbalances in pleasure centers. Our uniquely formulated products, crafted by naturopaths, harness the power of native plant extracts and oils to work in harmony with your body, restoring balance in your intimate microbiomes. Every ingredient is included on the basis of our Naturopathic knowledge and understanding of herbal and nutritional medicine - and their application in intimate health.

 

 

What audience are you targeting with your products?

We believe that everyone deserves a fulfilling and safe sexual experience, free from discomfort and health concerns. Nunie is committed to both providing naturopathic, microbiome friendly solutions that enhance intimacy and confidence, as well as providing access to education around proactive and reactive sexual care.

 

How important is packaging design to your brand identity?

Packaging is so important to our brand identity - it encapsulates our brand’s personality, our tone, and is fundamental to ensuring the customer has a positive experience of our brand, from the moment they look at the product to when they are unboxing it for use.

 

 

Can you share any specific design elements or themes that are central to your packaging?

"Some specific design elements of our packaging include our colour scheme, designed to reflect our brand image of being fun, sexy and sophisticated - as well as our logo which was designed to be fluid and sexy all at the same time"

 

 

What challenges did you face when designing your packaging?

Challenges were making our packaging functional and aesthetically pleasing at the same time - ensuring that we didn’t compromise on either one of these aspects.

 

 

Future Plans

We are so excited to expand into our new product range - our first new product will be a wholefoods supplement powder designed to reduce UTI frequency and symptoms, as well as improving the health of both urinary and reproductive microbiomes. 

We are also going to offer Naturopathic Consultations to really give our Nunie community individualised and personalised care, working with not only their sexual health but their whole body health to improve the way they show up in themselves everyday! 

 

 

    What advice would you give to someone starting their own brand?

    "Take the leap! Starting your own brand is daunting but the most rewarding and deeply fulfilling process. Trust your instincts, stay authentic to yourself and your vision, and don’t be afraid to call on others for help. "

     

    What’s been the most rewarding part of your journey so far?

      The most rewarding part of Nunie for us is seeing our product transform the emotional and physical wellbeing of our customers. We understanding how challenging and uncomfortable infections like thrush and BV can be, so to be able to provide relief through our first flagship product Whipped Sex Butter has been so rewarding.


       

        If your brand were a person, how would you describe its personality?

        If our brand was a person it would be cute, flirtatious and nurturing all at the same time.
